Tanya & Anshuman

Tanya & Anshuman

MY   Soulmate   , ALWAYS AND FOREVER

A love that started in college, and travelled continents. From living in the same city to living in different countries. A love story going against the usual worldly belief of long-distance relationships not working out. Tanya and Anshuman absolutely made it work.

Both of them came back to Delhi to celebrate their love story with their nearest and dearest, in so to say the smallest and the most intimate wedding celebration (yes just 20 people). From a vibrant mehendi in their backyard where they have shared so many laughs and precious moments with their family to a subtle and classy wedding at The Oberoi, New Delhi. A fairytale truly having a super special place in our hearts.

The bride was certain that she didn’t want anything over the top, but she knew she wanted the décor simple with a lot of personalization and everything to have a touch of blue, being both of theirs most favourite colour.

The Mehendi was totally traditional, over flowing with yellow marigolds and white chrysanthemums, with touches of Blue and white ikat linen. We created a small and cozy bridal area for her mehendi and decorated her “BACHPAN” ka jhoola as a photo op. Since it was an afternoon mehendi, we planned a full-fledged Dilli ki chaat counter rather than the usual buffet spread.

The bar was surely the show stopper, wicker baskets with genda drops made the façade and a menu was personalized with cocktails which Tanya & Anshuman had shared over many of their dates. But what took our heart away was, Anshuman being so cute and taking care of Tanya, feeding her and sitting right next to her all through out when she was putting Mehendi.

The wedding was held two days later at the terrace of Oberoi New Delhi, oh! A breathtaking sight. The center of attraction was our all-white mandap with pink florals, a backdrop for the couple and the leave a wish corner which was a walk through their journey over the years. Tanya and Anshuman danced on a thousand years sung live by the very Talented – Stavya Kalia – the performer for the night, leaving all of us awe struck. Their families were not behind, and also planned a surprise dance for both of them leaving both of them teary eyed. Aren’t weddings such a heart touching occasion, where every emotion is lived and loved. The cherry on the cake was, a candid speech by Anshuman for Tanya, little did we ever feel it first hand – the raw ones are the most real ones. Words, which would have maybe made a little less sense if they had been scripted or pre-prepared for. But this was straight from the heart, and we all couldn’t help but fall in love with the both of them again.

Oh! Did we tell you, we had precisely 20 guests attending this wedding? Tanya and Anshuman wanted to be over cautious about the safety and only invited their super close family & friends. The terrace had so many pillars, that it was a challenge to fit all the pieces of décor together to make it look as one. But alas, that’s what experience makes us do, fit the right pieces at the right places to make it the most perfect setting to get married.

As Anshuman stood by the mandap, Tanya walked to “Main Nachdi Phira” with happiness shining through her eyes and the most adorable smile. The guests cheering for both and tossing rose petals from their personalized doileys hanging from their respective chairs as both exchanged rings & Jaimala just as the sun set. The most beautiful moment preserved for a lifetime.

The guests danced the night away and wholeheartedly enjoyed the delicacies made by the talented team at the Oberoi. And trust us when we say, the Oberoi Terrace looks absolutely stunning at night, as though you are amidst the twinkling stars right in the middle of the sky, with candles just enhancing the beauty of this dreamy setting, if only you are able to keep them lit throughout the windy night. It’s just as if the wind wanted to be a part of the exquisite night and stopped the candles from shining their true light. But, at the end of a stormy night comes a beautiful sunrise and that’s the happiness we truly strive for! A night to remember for generations to come!
